My friend’s creepy partner who she’s crazy about is cheating – should I tell her?

DEAR DEIDRE: I KNOW for a fact that my friend’s creepy partner is cheating on her. I’ve seen him having sex with a woman who lives on our street.

My friend and I are both 39 and we’ve been close since our teens. She’s been with her partner for most of that time. He’s 43 and I’ve never liked him much but she’s crazy about him and doesn’t believe he’s a cheat.

I’ve seen that woman get into his car near where I work on the days when my friend sees her mum.

After I’d seen it a few times I followed them when he drove off. They drove to a quiet part of town and had sex in his car.

I’ve watched this now four or five times. Should I tell my friend about this?

DEIDRE SAYS: I doubt your friend will thank you for bringing bad news. It may harm your friendship – maybe she knows and is biding her time.

Give her your time. Urge her to get out and about and to make new friends so she is more confident.

Be ready to be a shoulder to cry on when she needs a friend.
