Donald Trump makes another spelling gaffe as he calls Charles the ‘Prince of Whales’… and Twitter has a field day

TWITTER users had a whale of a time poking fun at Donald Trump after he misspelled Prince Charles’s title wrongly in a message on social media.

The US President, 72, said the future monarch was the “Prince of Whales” rather than Wales in an online gaffe.

Donald Trump had been responding to an ABC report which claimed he said he would listen to foreign governments if they offered him “dirt” on political opponents.

His full Twitter message said: I meet and talk to “foreign governments” every day. I just met with the Queen of England (U.K.), the Prince of Whales, the P.M. of the United Kingdom, the P.M. of Ireland, the President of France and the President of Poland. We talked about “Everything!”

He continued: “Should I immediately call the FBI about these calls and meetings? How ridiculous! I would never be trusted again. With that being said, my full answer is rarely played by the Fake News Media. They purposely leave out the part that matters.”

Mr Trump’s confusion over the difference between a whale, a mammal, and the country Wales, triggered online jokers to have a laugh at the President’s expense.

Many mocked up hilarious memes imagining how the royal may look as an actual prince of whales.

Mr Trump later deleted the tweet and replaced it with one that included the correct spelling.

Prince Charles met with the US President and his wife Melania last week during his state visit to the UK.

Charles and Camilla hosted the American visitors at Clarence House where they all had afternoon tea and all four then attended a state banquet at Buckingham Palace.

In Trump’s interview with ABC, he said: “There’s nothing wrong with listening.

“If somebody called from a country – Norway – we have information on your opponent, oh, I think I’d want to hear it.”

Mr Trump regularly comes in for ridicule for his Twitter messages but was blasted in 2017 when he wrote “covfefe” in a Twitter message about the “negative press”.
