Andy Ruiz Jr eyeing huge showdown with Wilder once he finishes off Joshua in rematch later this year
ANDY RUIZ JR is already dreaming of an undisputed heavyweight title fight against Deontay Wilder.
The Mexican is on cloud nine after shocking the boxing world with a seventh-round stoppage of previously unbeaten champ Anthony Joshua.
And despite the rematch set for November or December this year, the new WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO champ is ready to chase the WBC strap.
When asked does he think he can beat Wilder, Ruiz told TMZ Sports: “Yeah, that’s what we’re aiming for but, first things first I gotta get Joshua.”
Joshua suffered four knockdowns losing his world titles along with his unbeaten record at Madison Square Garden in New York.
There were suggestions he was struggling from a heavy blow to the temple from the third round while others believed AJ had a problem before stepping into the ring.

But speaking in video on his YouTube channel, Joshua strenuously played down such claims – while promoter Eddie Hearn said it was a “fake story”.
He said: “I had no panic attack, I’m not that type of person. I have to take my loss like a man, I’m not blaming any man or any thing.
“I went in there to perform and my performance didn’t go to plan, my game plan didn’t go to plan. So I have to re-adjust, I have to correct what went wrong and get the job done in the rematch.
“On Saturday I took a loss and I have to take it like a man. Never let success get to your head, and never let your failures get to your heart.

“It’s tough, when you lose sometimes it feels like it rips away a part of you, but I’m not going to change anything, I’m still ambitious and I’m still going to walk with my head held high like a champion.”
Ruiz, as big as 25/1 to beat Joshua, enjoyed his biggest ever payday as he banked £5million.
Despite being the loser on the night, AJ is believed to have pocketed a whopping £20m – although that differential should be shorter in the rematch.
