Sheikh behind mega £350m Newcastle buy-out is new director of company which could be used as vehicle for takeover
THE Sheikh bidding to buy Newcastle has been listed as the director of a new company – which could be the vehicle used for his Toon takeover.
Monochrome Acquisition Limited was today registered on Companies House to the London address of Pinsent Masons law firm.
And the two directors named are Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Midhat Kidwai – the managing director of the Bin Zayed Group, who released a statement last week confirming terms had been agreed with Newcastle.
The new company’s name ‘Monochrome’ could be seen as a nod to the Toon’s famous black and white colours.
And Pinsent Masons were the firm who advised Newcastle when Mike Ashley bought the club in 2007.
Magpies chiefs refused to comment on the relevance of the registration of Monochrome Acquisition.
But Sheikh Khaled’s Bin Zayed Group remain bullish about their chances of completing a £350million takeover.
They insist they have provided a proof of funds and are now just awaiting Premier League checks before taking control at St James’ Park.
Meanwhile, Toon boss Rafa Benitez is poised to give Chelsea midfielder Kyle Scott the chance to prove he has a Prem future.

Scott, 21, could head straight to St James’ Park when his Stamford Bridge deal expires at the end of the month.
The Bath-born, USA Under-20 international has has played just one senior game for the Blues despite joining them aged ten.
Scott spent the season just finished on loan with Dutch second-tier side Telstar.
