Lone Spurs fan joined 50,000 Liverpool supporters in their fan zone in Madrid… to be with her wife

Jo Currie was the only Tottenham fan amid 50,000 Liverpool supporters in the Reds’ zone for the Champions League final in Madrid – so she could spend as much of the wild weekend as possible with Kop-following wife Sam.
Jo’s jovial tweets showed the couple remained the best of frenemies even after Mo Salah’s early penalty and sub Divock Origi’s late flourish gave Liverpool a 2-0 win.
And BBC Sport reporter Jo even wore her white Spurs top as she proved you do sometimes walk alone – to drink in the atmosphere, as well as the local beer, surrounded by the red shirts of Liverpool followers.
Her beaming smile easily won over Reds’ supporters.
And perhaps she has made a deal with Sam that, if the two clubs reach another Euro final together, then they must spend that occasion with Spurs fans…
Jo got a thumbs-up from a Liverpool supporter in a video she posted with the words: “When you make it to the WRONG fan zone #COYS #UCLFinal #Madrid.”
She then tweeted a grinning photo of herself and Sam arm in arm inside Atletico’s Wanda Metropolitano with the prediction: “So this is going to end in…divorce.”
Afterwards she posted a pic of the couple standing up that said it all about the result – Jo slumping back towards her seat, Sam raising her fist in a victory salute.
Magnanimous Jo wrote: “One of us is leaving Madrid happier than the other #StillMarried #UCLFinal.”
