The Government of India has appointed Sanjay Malhotra as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), set to assume office on December 11, 2024. Malhotra, an experienced Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, will replace Shaktikanta Das, whose tenure ends on December 10, 2024. Malhotra’s extensive career spans over 33 years, including key roles in finance, taxation, and public policy.
