BackgroundFor those HIV seropositive people with high viral loads, the World Health Organization recommends more counseling before changing ART regimens. A high viral load can lead to increased HIV transmission and lower survival rates. Clients with viral loads above 1000 copies/mL should receive enhanced adherence counseling for 3–6 months before switching. Despite enhanced adherence counseling programs, most countries struggle with viral load suppression. Читать дальше...

This study applied the pull-out test to examine the influence of freeze-thaw cycles and hybrid fiber incorporation on the bond performance between BFRP bars and hybrid fiber-reinforced concrete. The bond-slip curves were fitted by the existing bond-slip constitutive model, and then the bond strength was predicted by a BP neural network. The results indicated that the failure mode changed from pull-out to splitting for the BFRP bar ordinary concrete specimens when the freeze-thaw cycles exceeded 50... Читать дальше...

Background and objectivesGenetic variability in the dopaminergic system could contribute to age-related impairments in executive control. In this study, we examined whether genetic polymorphism for catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT Val158Met) is related to performance on updating, shifting and inhibition tasks.
MethodsWe administered a battery of executive tasks assessing updating, shifting and inhibition functions... Читать дальше...

ObjectivesThe objectives of this study were to examine the prevalence and associations of mindfulness meditation use and also its perceived mental health effects during the COVID-19 pandemic.
MethodsUsing repeated cross-sectional data from broad online samples weighted to be representative of the adult population in Britain, we estimated the prevalence of mindfulness meditation use and employed logistic regression models to investigate sociodemographic... Читать дальше...

Employer branding has emerged as a strategic imperative in the quest for talent. However, existing research has predominantly explored stable periods, overlooking the possible transformative impact of crises and the crucial role that HR managers play in crafting internal employer branding strategies. As such, this research addresses this by scrutinizing internal employer branding during the COVID-19 pandemic. Conducting in-depth interviews with 37 Belgian HR managers... Читать дальше...

BackgroundLow birth weight (LBW), defined as a birth weight less than 2500 g, irrespective of gestational age, poses a significant health concern for newborns. Despite efforts, the incidence of LBW in sub-Saharan Africa has remained stagnant over the past decade, warranting attention from healthcare providers, policymakers, and researchers.
ObjectiveThis study aimed to identify factors associated with LBW among... Читать дальше...

This study presents a novel approach to modeling the velocity-time curve in 100m sprinting by integrating machine learning algorithms. It critically addresses the limitations of traditional speed models, which often require extensive and intricate data collection, by proposing a more accessible and accurate method using fewer variables. The research utilized data from various international track events from 1987 to 2019. Two machine learning models, Random Forest (RF) and Neural Network (NN)... Читать дальше...

Visual abilities tend to vary predictably across the visual field–for simple low-level stimuli, visibility is better along the horizontal vs. vertical meridian and in the lower vs. upper visual field. In contrast, face perception abilities have been reported to show either distinct or entirely idiosyncratic patterns of variation in peripheral vision, suggesting a dissociation between the spatial properties of low- and higher-level vision. To stimulate economic growth, China has launched multiple economic stimulus plans in recent years, intensifying corporate debt financing and subsequently elevating the leverage levels. Addressing and effectively reducing the leverage levels of our country’s enterprises has emerged as a pressing issue in the trajectory of our economic development. This paper primarily investigates the drivers, pathways, and mechanisms for reversing the over-leveraged values of enterprises. Читать дальше...
