Into The Dark: They Come Knocking Trailer: Celebrate Father’s Day With Some Scares
A family road trip turns terrifying in the trailer for Hulu’s Into the Dark: They Come Knocking. The film is the latest installment in Hulu’s collaboration with Blumhouse TV to produce monthly, ultra-low budgeted horror films, usually with a holiday theme. The series began in October of 2018 with the Halloween-themed The Body, and has continued apace with films set a Christmas, New Year’s, Valentines Day, and so on. Now, it looks as though the series is set to ring in Father’s Day with some supernatural horror.
In addition to being tied to Blumhouse, They Come Knocking is notable for starring former Lethal Weapon star Clayne Crawford, in his first major TV role since his contentious departure from the now-canceled FOX series. Crawford did appear in the family drama Tinker in 2018, as well as the short film 22, but his role here as Nathan marks his return to television. And from the look of things, this role will be more in keeping with Crawford’s performance on Rectify than his version of Martin Riggs.
They Come Knocking is the second Into the Dark installment directed by Adam Mason, who also helmed the April Fool’s Day-themed I’m Just F*cking With You, which starred Hayes MacArthur (Angie Tribeca) and Jessica McNamee (The Meg). There is definitely a The Hills Have Eyes feel to They Come Knocking, as Nathan and his two daughters stumble into the sort of cross-country misadventure that nightmares are made of. Though the trailer doesn’t give anything away as to who “They” are, the synopsis suggests the film will delve into supernatural territory, which could provide plenty of scares.
Into the Dark: They Come Knocking premieres Friday, June 7 on Hulu.
