Joshua could crash Wilder vs Ortiz rematch to force American to take unification bout
ANTHONY JOSHUA is ready to crash Deontay Wilder’s next fight to force him into the undisputed decider the British hero craves.
AJ, 29, has been chasing the American WBC king for two years, trying to put his WBA, IBF and WBO belts on the line to decide the one man who rules the division.
The 33-year-old demolished Dominic Breazeale on May 18 and fans were hoping the two giants would settle the score, only for Wilder to agree to rematch Luis Ortiz in September.
And Joshua, who fights Andy Ruiz Jr at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, says he could return to the US to ruffle some feathers and try to make the fight.
He said: “I should do, it depends when it is but I would do it this time around.
“I would actually look at doing something like that but it has to be beneficial to me.
“I wouldn’t want to turn up there and have security holding me back outside the ring. I would want to actually be able to push the narrative.”
Joshua stopped Alexander Povetkin in September, when he struggled to fill Wembley due to the Russian’s inability to help hype the fight.
Wilder has done a good job talking up the fight without actually ever taking it.

And he insists he would never get away with agreeing to a walkover rematch, like Wilder has, due to the immense pressure on him from his millions of UK fans.
He said: “If I rematched Povetkin next, I would have a lot more pressure. If it was me, how would it be dealt with? I could make the same decisions as him but I don’t.
“If I rematch Povetkin next then I don’t want to hear anyone else complaining because that is the way of the beast now.”
Josh would happily see Cuban veteran Ortiz get revenge for his 2018 defeat as he cares much more about the green and gold belt than he does the Bronze Bomber.
He said: “It’s not about Wilder, it’s about what we can achieve. Wilder is still building his profile so it’s not about him, it’s about being undisputed.

“I think all the talk helps build his brand but I come from the amateurs where we didn’t need to trash talk.
“He has done a lot of talking, the potential fight between us is already big.
“Wilder has done a good job talking up the fight without actually ever taking it.”
