Online gaming platform and content developer Pariplay has expanded into the regulated Swedish market after entering into a new partnership with national operator Svenska Spel.
Under the agreement, Pariplay will provide Svenska Spel's Sport & Casino subsidiary, which competes against private operators online, with a selection of its igaming content, including the new Lucky Vegas slot game that launched this week.
Svenska Spel will have exclusive rights to the new game in Sweden for the two weeks after its launch. This period will run through to June 12.
“Partnering with Svenska Spel cements our presence in the region and highlights our drive for forward-thinking innovation,” Pariplay commercial and marketing director, Richard Mintz, said.
“This aligns with our strategic goals for 2019, which are focused on Pariplay continuing to collaborate with the leading operators in the industry’s biggest regulated markets.”
Jonas Nygren, vice president of Casino at Svenska Spel, added: “Having already enjoyed success across many other regulated markets, we feel that Pariplay’s diverse collection of games will complement our existing product offering and give Sweden’s players even more exciting gaming experiences.”
Svenska Spel remains the leading gaming operator in Sweden, despite the recent regulation of the national market introducing new competition.
In the opening three months of the year, Svenska Spel generated SEK1.4bn (£116.3m/€132.0m/$146.8m) from the state lottery and land-based gaming machines, as well as a further SEK234m came from its land-based casino operations in the country.
