Height: 5 feet, 10 inches
Weight: 162 pounds
Age: 23 years old (Born Sept. 1, 1995)
Here are some other things you may not know about Brandt Broussard, who was named to the 2019 SEC All-Tournament Team.
Burke Broussard, the father of Brandt, played baseball for LSU and was a varsity letterman in 1985 and 1986.
Burke was the starting second baseman for LSU's 1986 team that reached the College World Series, which was LSU's first trip to the CWS.
Burke Broussard also earned All-SEC Second Team honors at second base in 1986.
Prior to playing at LSU, Burke Broussard played at Louisiana-Lafayette and Eastern Oklahoma Junior College, according to The Advocate.
Burke then coached high school baseball for 26 seasons from 1989 to 2014 at St. John of Plaquemine, Plaquemine (Louisiana) Senior High School, and LSU's University High, according to The Advocate.
Brandt Broussard's college baseball career includes two years at Delgado Community College in New Orleans. He started his career at Nicholls State as an invited walk-on in 2015, but he never played, according to The Advocate.
During his first year at Delgado, Broussard helped the team reach the 2016 NJCAA World Series in Junction City, Colorado. Delgado went 1-2 at the World Series, and Broussard batted 2-for-10 with a double, two runs and one RBI.
“When I first got to Delgado, I’d stand at the back in scrimmages and I felt uncomfortable,” Brandt said to The Advocate. “I’d never felt uncomfortable in my life on a baseball field. That hurt my confidence, and it took me a little while to get to the point where I wanted the ball hit to me.”

His sophomore season, Broussard batted .429 with 16 doubles, three triples, two home runs and 33 RBIs.
He was named National Junior College Athletic Association Player of the Week in 2017 during a stretch when he hit .567 with 17 hits.
The Minnesota Twins' selection of Andrew Bechtold in the fifth round of the 2017 MLB Draft opened a spot for Brandt Broussard at LSU, according to a story by TigerRag.com.
Before the MLB Draft, Broussard was looking at continuing his baseball career in the Southland Conference after Delgado.
"Every dad wishes sometimes that his son would follow in his footsteps, and I’m just so grateful that he’s even had a chance to play college baseball," Burke Broussard said to TigerRag.com. "Watching him grind these last few years to fulfill his dream to play at LSU, it’s satisfying."
After pitching in rookie ball in 2017, Bechtold has played for the Class A Cedar Rapids Kernels in 2018 and 2019.
Brandt Broussard missed 13 games during the 2018 season after suffering a broken left thumb.
He suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch against Vanderbilt on Friday, March 23, 2018. He played the next game and would turn a double play with a diving catch and hit an RBI single, according to SEC Country.
