Tacoma look for their first result away from Cheney

The Tacoma Defiance are LA-adjacent for a midweek showdown with Los Angeles Galaxy II. The Defiance are looking to take their recently improved form on the road. If they can get a result it will be their first away from home this season. Both sides come into this match with two straight draws, and both are at the bottom of the rankings defensively in the USL Championship Western Conference. Neither are great in attack but we could still be looking at an entertaining and high scoring match. This is the Defiance’s first rematch of the season, with LAG II winning the first matchup 3-0 at Cheney Stadium.

Los Dos are seeking to repeat that result but come into this one in much worse form, winning only one of their last seven games. Tacoma will have to deal with a balanced attack from LA that has players bunched up at the top of all the major statistical categories. That said, the player the Defiance will most want to keep away from the ball is Brian Iloski, who leads LA in both assists and chances created. They will also need to keep an eye on Ethan Zubak, who is LA’s most proactive player and could be dangerous if he brings his finishing boots.

The Defiance will likely rotate their squad a bit from the weekend, but if the reinforcements can play up to their potential there should be a result to be had in Carson.
