[Outdoor Track & Field] Plumb and Reemtsma named to Google Cloud Academic All-District Team
Ashley Plumb and Jack Reemtsma were named to the 2019 Google Cloud NAIA Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages.
Plumb and Reemtsma represent District 3, which includes NAIA colleges from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Noth Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. They now advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Track & Field/Cross Country ballot, where first- and second-team All-America honorees will be selected. Plumb was voted to the Academic All-America First Team last year.
Plumb, a senior from Macomb, Ill., set a school record in the 5K with her time of 18:29 at the NAIA Cross Country Championships in the fall. Plumb earned all-conference honors in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field this year. She was named a CCAC Athlete of the Week three times this year and was named the NAIA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Sept. 3.
Reemtsma, a senior from Bettendorf, Iowa, recently finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles at the NAIA Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He also competed in the 400-meter dash. Reemtsma was also a national qualifier in the 60-meter dash at the indoor championships. This year, he won conference championships in the indoor 400-meter dash, the indoor 60-meter hurdles and the outdoor 400-meter hurdles.
