Spurs star insists he has no regrets over transfer

Tottenham Hotspur certainly have Lucas Moura to thank for booking their place in the Champions League final.

The Brazilian proved to be the hero when he scored a second half hat-trick against Ajax in Amsterdam including a dramatic injury-time goal to set up an all-English final with Liverpool.

Moura arrived at Spurs in January 2018 from Paris Saint-Germain after he was frozen out of the first team by Unai Emery, who has since moved on to take charge of North London rivals Arsenal.

The 26-year-old took time to settle following his switch to the Premier League, at the start of the campaign he showed his quality with an impressive display in the away win at Manchester United before going through a dip in form in latter months.

Thankfully for Spurs, he booked his place in the club’s history with his performance at the John Cryuff ArenA which will give supporters hope he can do the same on Saturday.

Moura insists that he has no regrets about leaving PSG despite it being out of his control.

He told Goal.com: “This Ajax match is magnificent, it will always be in my heart, it’s like it was yesterday, it was an incredible match, the best game of my career (…) match like this makes me forget all the difficulties that I knew in football.

“I have no regrets, not at all, I’ve had five wonderful seasons there (PSG) where I’ve won a lot of trophies, where I’ve learned a lot, of course the last six months were very difficult, I did not want it to end like that but these are things that I could not control.”

Moura’s second half performance against Ajax was one of the best in living memory.  However, Mauricio Pochettino now has to decide whether he will drop the Brazilian and start Harry Kane in the final; a difficult decision awaits.
