China rejects Canada’s claim of ‘double standards’ over death sentence

China has rejected claims from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that the death penalty for a Canadian charged with drug smuggling has been 'arbitrarily' applied. The Chinese foreign ministry has warned Mr Trudeau to 'stop making such irresponsible remarks,' accusing Canada of 'double standards'. A Chinese court increased Robert Schellenberg's sentence to the death penalty, claiming the initial sentence of 15 years was too lenient. China releases images of seeds sprouting on moon

China has released photographs of cotton seeds sprouting on the far side of the moon in what could be a precursor to luna food production for future space travellers. The seeds were planted by China’s Chang’e 4 lunar probe which was, earlier this month, the first spacecraft to land on the far side of the moon.
