A Dutch amateur clash between Harkemase Boys and HSV Hoek was the center of attention on Saturday, May 25, after a referee accidentally scored from close range and allowed the goal to stand.
The referee, identified as Maurice Paahuis is said to have poked home from close range after the ball hitting him.

Mail Online reported that a Hoek player struck the ball across the hosts' goal but bounced straight off the post before striking the referee and eventually rolling into the net.
Bizarrely, Paahuis blew his whistle pointing towards the halfway way to line to signal a goal for the visitors.
The decision sparked protests from the home fans and players but the referee could not have any of it as he let the goal count.

The hosts eventually had the last laugh as they marched to a 4-2 victory over their opponents who had benefited from a controversial goal.
