Report: Jack Elliott signed to new contract
Paul Tenorio reports the deal will keep the London native “for at least the next few seasons”
Philadelphia Union defender Jack Elliott has reportedly been signed to a new contract that will keep him in Chester for the next few seasons.
Paul Tenorio of The Athletic reported on Tuesday that “multiple sources” have confirmed the new deal for the 23-year-old London, England native.

Elliott was drafted 77th overall by the Philadelphia Union in 2017 out of West Virginia University and has made 58 appearances for the first team over his first three seasons as a pro. His salary last season was $59.629.50, according to figures released in October by the players union.
The signing is of note in part because Elliott’s continued dominance on the back line has limited Mark McKenzie’s opportunity to play this season even when the 20-year-old homegrown has been healthy.
McKenzie, who has been limited to just 12 first team minutes, suffered an ankle injury in preseason, a concussion in March and had an emergency appendectomy in late April. He is currently in Poland with the United States U20s, which he will captain during a U20 World Cup campaign that kicks off Friday.
