England launch stunning Cricket World Cup kit in throwback to 1992 shirt
ENGLAND have launched their kit for the upcoming Cricket World Cup – and it’s a stunning throwback to the 1992 classic.
The gorgeous light-blue offering is reminiscent of the one worn by the likes of Ian Botham and Graham Gooch nearly 30 years ago.
New-boy Jofra Archer, along with Joe Root and Jos Buttler, has shown off the sensational New Balance strip.
It’s fair to say it’s likely to fly off the shelves ahead of the summer tournament.
The almost completely sky-blue top comes with stripes across the shoulders in different shades of blue, with red weaved between the lines.
The selection of Archer as the poster-boy for the kit launch is hardly a surprise either after his sensational rise to the World Cup squad.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Barbados-born speedster, 24, was named in the 15-man group at David Willey’s expense.
ARCHER’S TEST DREAM
Archer thrilled both selectors and fans during the ODI series with Pakistan – a 4-0 victory.
His pace, bounce and X-factor has seen him make the cut – with Liam Dawson also replacing Joe Denly.
But it will be all eyes on Archer, who has now claimed he has aspirations of a spot in this summer’s Ashes squad in mind.
Archer claimed: “If they do [select me for the Ashes], I’d be over the moon but for right now we’ve got a World Cup to think about.
“I’ve only just gotten into the side, I don’t expect to waltz into the Test team either.

“If selected, I’ll work my butt off but if not I’ll go back to Sussex and keep putting in the work.”
The first Ashes Test starts on August 1 at an ever-raucous Edgbaston – an atmosphere Archer would likely thrive off.
But first it’s the World Cup, with England kicking off their campaign – in their incredible new kit – on May 30 at The Oval, against South Africa.
