[Football] 2019 SAU Football Schedule Released

LAURINBURG, N.C. - The 2019 football schedule for St. Andrews University has been released, with the season kicking off September 7th, 2019.

  

The Knights will host the visiting Seahawks of Keiser University at Knights Field for the season opener. The Seahawks finished their 2018 contests with a 6-4 record, while the Knights were 2-7. This will be the first meeting on the gridiron for the two NAIA schools and each team comes into the contest collecting season-opening wins in 2018.

 

The 2019 schedule is composed of 10 bouts, with five of the competitions being held on home turf while the remaining five are on the road.

 

Week 2 holds tough competition for the Knights as they travel to Ave Maria who is coming off a 6-4 record last season and 5-1 on their home gridiron. The Knights also have a difficult week 8, when they host Reinhardt University, ranked 11th in the nation in 2018 and undefeated in MSC play.

 

St. Andrews will battle against Cincinnati Christian University during week 5, their last match up being in the inaugural season at SAU, where the Knights captured the first win in SAU Football history with a score of 48-25.

The Knights are in the Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division, accompanied by Reinhardt, Cumberlands, Pikeville, Point, Bluefield, and Union.
