Game of Thrones’ Euron Greyjoy makes surprise appearance on Eurovision
GAME Of Thrones’ Euron Greyjoy made a surprise appearance in last night’s Eurovision Song Contest – leaving fans stunned.
Actor Pilou Asbæk co-hosted the 2014 ceremony in his native Denmark after Danish Emmelie De Forest won the year before.
Pilou showed off his singing and dancing skills when he hosted the Copenhagen show – which saw Austrian Conchita Wurst be crowned winner.
An old clip of the 37-year-old star presenting alongside Nikolaj Koppel and Lise Rønne was shown during last night’s event, leaving viewers stunned.
Taking to social media, one eagle-eyed viewer wrote: “Wait, was that Euron Greyjoy?!”
Another added: “I’ve just learnt Euron Greyjoy presented Eurovision in 2014 and I’m shook.”
A third tweeted: “Did anyone else notice the video clip at beginning of #Eurovision that it showed Euron Greyjoy hosted it one year?”
However, the throwback clip wasn’t the only Euron moment that drove fans wild last night, with others flocking to social media to point out the uncanny resemblance between the villainous character and the man presenting Iceland’s points.
One wrote: “Did Euron Greyjoy just cast Iceland’s votes?”
Another shared: “Wait, did Euron Greyjoy just give the Iceland votes or am I going mad?”
Meanwhile, Denmark’s presenter held a strong resemblance to Tormund Giantsbane, which was also picked up by viewers.
A passionate Thrones fan tweeted: “Fair play to him for turning up at Eurovision even after Brienne rejected him #Tormund #GameofThrones”.
A second wrote: “Knowing that Tormund got a new job on the Eurovision after GoT finished might cheer you up”.

Pilou joined the Game of Thrones cast in 2016’s season six, with his ruthless character desperately trying to seduce Cersei Lannister in his bid for power.
Sadly the dragon slayer was one of several characters to lose their life in last week’s penultimate episode of the fantasy series.
Euron found himself in a face-off with Jamie Lannister as Daenerys Targaryen went full “Mad Queen” and unleashed her last surviving dragon on King’s Landing.
Game of Thrones’ finale will premiere on Sky Atlantic and Now TV at 2am on Monday 20th May to match the US air time.
It will be available to stream all day and will be broadcast again at 9pm on Sky Atlantic.
