Britain’s Got Talent elderly pole dancer Michael Sandwig stuns Simon Cowell with semi-naked splits to The Sound Of Music soundtrack
BRITAIN’s Got Talent acrobat Michael Sandwig left Simon Cowell cringing tonight and Alesha Dixon begging the panel not to send him through.
Michael is a tap dance teacher but he stripped to his pants and climbed the pole like a pro, as a choir The Sound of Music beside him.
Michael, who revealed he’s older than Simon, 60, left the panel divided with his flexibility and outrageous moves.
Amanda likened him to a “Salvador Dali painting,” adding: “I love it when people come up with these ideas” and David Walliam was even more impressed.
But Simon wouldn’t be swayed and looked everywhere he could, other than at the stage – even shielding his eyes.
His face was priceless when Michael whipped off his jacket and began swinging in circles higher and higher around the pole.
Many viewers agreed with Simon and Alesha about Michael, and one said: “With Simon & Alesha on that one! State of him on the pole”
Another raved: “If that was a woman they wouldn’t have got through”
One more said: “I haven’t watched BGT in years and the moment I do I’m watching a 61 yr old man pole dance… this country man”
Later in the show, a contestant moved viewers to tears when he proposed to his girlfriend after singing You Are So Beautiful by Joe Cocker.
The lad got four yeses from the panel but he said he wanted “one more” as he told his girlfriend to come on stage.
Viewers were in bits as he got down on one knee and her hands where shaking.
