For the past week, there had been a major tease from Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It seems the two-time MVP had agreed to make a cameo appearance in the second-to-last episode of the hit HBO television series “Game of Thrones.” At first, people thought it was a joke, given the show has a long history of surprise cameos from celebrities.
However, as the episode drew closer the buzz continued to pick up. Eventually, people found out it to be true. So eagle-eyed football fans who watched the show made sure to keep watch for where he might pop up. It wasn’t easy, but soon he surfaced in two key moments. The first was when he was standing in a line of archers prepared for battle.
That might’ve been it, but it turns out there was one more moment. One that Chicago Bears fan will no doubt enjoy running on repeat. It occurs when Daenerys decides to torch the entirety of the city of Kings Landing with her dragon. In the panic and carnage that follows, Rodgers is spotted trying to flee only to get caught in a swirling maelstrom of flames.
Sadly this is only fiction and the Bears will have to contend with Rodgers for the forseeable future. Still, every time he he gets sacked by Khalil Mack or somebody else, they’ll have this clip to play on the big screens at Soldier Field. Every cloud has a silver lining.
