Avista Corp. said late Monday its Chief Executive Scott L. Morris will retire effective March 1, 2020. Morris will serve as board chairman until his retirement date but transition his CEO duties to President Dennis P. Vermillion. Vermillion was elected CEO by the utility's board of directors effective Oct. 1. Shares of Avista were flat in the extended session Monday after ending the regular trading day up 0.5%.
