On May 11, 2019, students at Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH) were thrown into great mourning after one of their own lost his life.

According to reports, a 200 level student of Guidance and Counseling at the institution identified as Dominic ‘Paperboi’ Ugbe drowned in a swimming pool at a hotel in Calabar.
It was gathered that the young lad attended a pool party organised by his department.

However the student did not make it back home on that day as he allegedly died while participating in a swimming competition.
RIP to the dead.
In other news, Legit.ng reported that three UniAbuja students reportedly watched their friend drown in a swimming pool because they were jealous of his good looks and wealth.
A Nigerian man identified as Mystic Biu on Facebook has shared an awful story of how four University of Abuja 100-level students had gone to catch some fun on a weekend at a hotel.
The four friends had gone to swim at the swimming pool of Dome Hotel in Abuja but only three of them left the pool side without their friend, 17-year-old Emmanuel Aigbokhalode Balogun.
