THE RACING early this week is average, and that’s being kind.
I’ve miraculously managed to find one amongst the muck on Tuesday, but it will be minimum stakes to say the least.
FIREWATER (Beverley, 4.20) can hopefully keep up Richard Fahey’s strong start to the season at the Yorkshire track.
Firewater caught the eye on his comeback run at Wolverhampton, and already looks like he needs this trip as his minimum.
Importantly he’s drawn well in stall three and that gives jockey Tony Hamilton plenty of options. His best performance came when tracking the pace and kicking clear at Ayr.
Anything he did at two was going to be a bonus, he looked a bit backwards and green.

He should improve now three and his run at Wolverhampton pointed to that too. This extra trip should prove him better than his current mark of 64.
