Laughing thugs film themselves tearing live pheasant’s wings off

The RSPCA want to speak to three youths who were caught torturing a pheasant to death (Picture: SWNS)

A manhunt has been launched for three men who were filmed ripping the wings of a live pheasant.

One of them held the petrified bird while another used a knife and slingshot to torture it to death as a third filmed the attack.

They then pull another dead pheasant from the boot of their car before kicking and jumping on both of their victims.

The boys, whose ages are not known, then drove off in a Volkswagen Polo before returning a few minutes later in a green Subaru SUV.

Their attack was caught on hidden cameras which had been set up to detect fly-tipping in Burnham, Buckinghamshire, on April 8.

Buckinghamshire County Council contacted the RSPCA after the footage was discovered.

The first youth is a white male with short, brown hair, wearing a black baseball cap, blue t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

The second is a white male with brown hair, wearing a black Adidas tracksuit.

The third is a white male, with a more tanned complexion, dark hair, wearing a khaki-green t-shirt and blue jeans.

RSPCA inspector Rachel Smith has appealed for anyone with information to come forward to help identify the three boys.

She added: ‘It’s extremely violent and cruel. The bird would have suffered seriously throughout the duration of the attack.

‘At this stage we do not know the ages of these youths so we would ask anyone who recognises them to contact us directly and not to publicly name the boys.

‘This is also why we have chosen not to show the boys’ faces at this time.

‘We are already in the process of tracing the vehicle via the car registration.

‘Anyone who recognises any of the individuals or the vehicles can contact the RSPCA’s appeal line on 0300 123 8018 and leave a message for Inspector Rachel Smith.’
