Man Utd fans tear into Lukaku after club wishes flop striker happy birthday
MANCHESTER UNITED fans have ripped into birthday boy Romelu Lukaku with the player urged to leave in the summer.
The Belgian international – who turns 26 today – has failed to win over his critics at Old Trafford, with the striker having scored just 12 times in 32 Premier League games.
Lukaku was left out of United’s squad for the two games of the season with a suspected injury, with the club drawing 1-1 at Huddersfield and losing 2-0 against Cardiff in his absence.
The ex-Everton ace has struggled for consistency this campaign, and hasn’t found the back of the net since netting twice against Paris Saint-Germain on March 6.
But the Red Devils were looking to put a smile on his face on his birthday, as they tweeted: “Have a great day, @RomeluLukaku9!”
Online trolls then targeted Lukaku, as one tweeted: “Don’t eat all the cake.”
Another said: “Go easy on the cake cuz.”
While one supporter joked: “Ffs thought we’d sold him then.”
Another simply stated: “Happy birthday Lukaku but please leave me club.”
One quipped: “Happy birthday, all the best with your summer move.”

Lukaku has been linked with a summer switch to Inter Milan should Antonio Conte replace Luciano Spalletti at the San Siro.
But before any decision is made, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hold talks with the out-of-favour forward to discuss his future at the club.
