Results German Baseball-Bundesliga May 8 to 12, 2019
In the German Baseball-Bundesliga the second half of the regular season started this past weekend. In the north the Bonn Capitals and Hamburg Stealers played a pair of close games, sharing wins. On Saturday evening Hamburg prevailed 3-2 after 14 innings. Bonn leads the standings by a half game over the Untouchables Paderborn and Solingen Alligators, which celebrated lopsided sweeps over the Wesseling Vermins and Bremen Dockers.
In the south the Mannheim Tornados were the lone two-game winner of week eight, as they dominated a twin bill against the IT sure Falcons Ulm. They moved into a tie for first place, as leader Mainz Athletics settled for the split against the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg. The Stuttgart Reds and Heidenheim Heidekoepfe also shared wins. In game one Stuttgart prevailed in 16 innings thanks to a walk-off home run by Antonio Horvatic. The Saarlouis Hornets meanwhile captured their first victory in a split against the Munich-Haar Disciples.
