Spurs hero Harry Kane meets young fan with Down’s Syndrome who was trolled on social media following viral dancing video

HARRY KANE posted an uplifting snap with young fan Ella Markham who he invited to be a mascot after she was trolled online.

The 16-year-old has Down’s Syndrome and received vile abuse after a video went viral of her dancing at Spurs’ stadium during their home defeat to West Ham – their first at their new stadium.

But the England forward saw the the clip and intervened to make the youngster’s day.

Ella’s dad Neil Markham initially stood up to trolls after he posted the video of her on Twitter with the caption: “The result is never the most important thing #COYS.”

However he was peppered with disgusting messages in response such as: “It is the fault of your testicles that your daughter has an extra chromosome, how do you feel?”

Kane went above and beyond to soften the blow after a weekend Ella’s dad described as ‘horrific’ and sent her a personal video message asking her to be his guest at Spurs’ Premier League finale against Everton.

Having met her in the stadium, Kane posted the image with the caption: “Amazing to meet Ella before today’s game. So positive and happy! Inspiring. #COYS.”

And fans were quick to show their admiration for the teenager online.

The post received more than 26,000 likes and one fan posted: “Love this Harry. Fair play to you & hope Ella has a fantastic time today.”

Another tweeted: “Ella had the last laugh,” while another simply posted: “Legend. #TwoOfOurOwn.”

Spurs drew 2-2 at home with Everton and blew their chance to finish third after Chelsea could only draw at Leicester.
