Cinderella is a sweet little fairy tale for children, all about fairy godmothers, charming princes and how dreams can come true if you are a good girl, right?
Not this year.
Sinderella is the sixth edition of the Adult Pantomime in Summer – the show that subverts the normal rules of genre. It is naughty rather than nice; it is for grown-ups rather than children; and it is in summer instead of at Christmas.
This year the Adult Panto team have switched the story around too, making Sinders a renegade hero who instead of waiting on her back for her Prince to come (ahem), takes on the baddest baddie of them all in a battle to death (sort of).
But there is more to it than that. With the raunchiest, most insatiable dame to ever be seen in any panto, this year’s show promises to pay homage to all those sexy adventures that so Maltese women get themselves into. (And many wish they hadn’t.)
And of course, there is satire too. From fish being caught in the street by absolute dnegels to MEP shenanigans and the ultimate question (Twistees v Krips) nothing escapes the adult panto treatment!
