Theresa May’s football skills are nearly as bad as her dancing

It’s fair to say Theresa May has had a stressful few months, so who could blame her for wanting to blow off a bit of steam?

The Prime Minister looked as though she didn’t have a care in the world as she enjoyed a kick about with some children in her constituency.

She said she was ‘inspired’ by the recent success of English football teams, after four clubs took all four European final spots this season.

Liverpool and Tottenham both made remarkable comebacks to reach the Champions League final, while Arsenal and Chelsea secured their places in the Europa League final.

But despite her enthusiasm, we don’t think she will be first pick for them any time soon.

It must have been a welcome respite from the Houses of Parliament, where she has experienced backbench rebellions and survived attempts to oust her during the Brexit process.

She shared a clip of her joining in with the game on her Twitter page, and said: ‘It’s been a historic week for English football, with Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea inspiring children, adults, prime ministers.’

Although her admirable attempts at football may have been cringe-inducing, nothing compares with her becoming the UK’s dancing queen during a visit to Kenya last year. 

May was spotted busting out some serious dance moves while at the UN offices, which have since been dubbed ‘The Maybot’.

The prime minister has promised to step down from her role in the coming months, once the UK actually manages to strike a deal with the EU.

It is possible she could be looking for a new vocation if she does step down, but judging by her show of skills in football and dancing, she might want to steer clear of them.

She was pictured having a grand old time boosting her CV as a race marshall last month at the Maidenhead Easter 10k.
