Man Utd transfer blow with £100m Jadon Sancho set to stay at Dortmund for another year

JADON SANCHO will stay with Borussia Dortmund this summer – and snub a return to the Premier League.

The England winger’s impact in Bundesliga led to Manchester United weighing up a £100million move.

But Dortmund officials are certain the 19-year-old will remain at the Westfalenstadion for at least one more season.

They are planning on Sancho being part of the first-team squad next season.

And they are determined to resist approaches when the transfer window opens.

Sancho’s 12 goals this season and his England call-up has made him one of Europe’s hottest properties.

Other youngsters see him as a trailblazer for talent to leave England to get their chance abroad, with German clubs also scouting Under-23 and Under-18 matches for the next batch of stars.

A host of Premier League and the continent’s big guns were keen on the whizkid.

And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer led the race for Sancho as he is looking for a world-class right winger but also players with potential and the right attitude.

But staying at Dortmund for another season will now see United look elsewhere for their wide man.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United reportedly want to sign United keeper Dean Henderson permanently.

Henderson, 22, helped the Blades seal promotion back to the Premier League this season.

And he has already declared his desire to be back at Bramall Lane in the top-flight.

After winning the club’s Young Player of the Year award, Henderson said: “It’s a massive football club and driving forward they deserve to be in the Premier League.

“For me personally I was really emotional and I’ve told the gaffer (Chris Wilder) ‘listen, don’t let me leave’, but obviously it comes down to the two clubs to agree on money and stuff, so I’ll be itching at the bit to come back here next season.”
