Baluwatar land fraud dates to NC rule: Aryal

Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Minister Padhma Kumari Aryal today claimed that encroachment of government land in Baluwatar had started way back during the time of the Nepali Congress government.

Speaking at the inauguration of a newly-built Land Survey Office building in Manthali of Ramechhap today, the minister lamented the accusation the incumbent government has had to put up with for trying to investigate the land fraud and bring to book those involved.

“In fact, encroachment of the land in Baluwatar had begun from the time of the government of late NC leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai. Just because we tried to investigate the fraud and bring to book those involved, the opponents of the government are now raising all sorts of rumours against the government,” she argued.

She said her government was facing challenge in providing prompt service to the people and added the government would overcome the challenge.

“Up till now, service seekers have been putting up with a lot of hassles while receiving services, but we are set to provide services to the people through modern technology very soon.”
