Police are responding to a report of an injury shooting in the city's Fruitvale neighborhood in East Oakland.
OAKLAND — One man was injured Thursday in a shooting in the city’s Fruitvale neighborhood in East Oakland, police said.
Just before 5:10 p.m., police responded to calls for an 18-year-old man shot in the leg in the 2900 block of East 19th Street.
When officers arrived, they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound and learned he had been sitting inside a parked car when he realized he had been struck. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Officers had no motive or suspects in custody.
