Dalton Bowling, Kennedy-Fremont baseball: Had four hits in four at-bats, including a double, and knocked in two runs and scored a run to lead Kennedy to a 12-3 victory over Arroyo.
Keoni Coloma, De La Salle baseball: Had two hits and scored a run as De La Salle, the Bay Area News Group’s top-ranked team, rallied from a two-run deficit after four innings to defeat Monte Vista 3-2 in EBAL play.
Jonah Cooper, Foothill swimming: The Ohio State-bound standout won the 100 freestyle in 45.20 and 100 backstroke in a meet-record 48.45 at the East Bay Athletic League championships at Dougherty Valley.
Jared Freeman, Gunn track and field: The senior set a PR in the boys shot put at the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza finals with a winning effort of 55 feet, 2.5 inches that moves him atop the Central Coast Section rankings. He also holds the top mark in the discus with a 172-foot throw at the Arcadia Invitational.
Miranda Heckman, Granada swimming: The Texas commit won the 200 freestyle at the EBAL finals in 1:50.79, just off the Dougherty Valley pool record of 1:50.30 that she set in the prelims. She also took second in the 500 free in 4:56.40, a race that California’s Daniella Hawkins won in 4:51.15.
Ryan Jackson, Heritage baseball: In three games last week — wins over Deer Valley and Lincoln of Stockton and a one-run loss to Freedom — Jackson went 9 for 11, scored eight runs and drove in eight runs. He had two triples and a double and raised his batting average to .591.
William Kempner, Valley Christian baseball: The 6-foot senior came out of the bullpen in a 12-inning marathon against Santa Cruz to toss six innings of one-hit relief in which he walked four and struck out seven. Cal-bound Steven Zobac allowed two hits through five innings as the starter, and Roman Connolly threw a spotless frame to claim the 1-0 victory after a walk-off by Jack McGrew.
Kaia Li, Sacred Heart Prep swimming: The freshman broke a school record in the 100-yard breaststroke at the West Bay Athletic League finals with a winning time of 1:03.99 and pulled off a double in the 200 individual medley (1st, 2:04.26). She helped SHP take the league title by also participating in the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays.
Kendall Mansukhani, Half Moon Bay track and field: The junior set a PR in the girls 1,600 meters at the Peninsula Athletic League trials with a time of 5:06.35, which moved her to seventh fastest in the Central Coast Section. She barely edged out Menlo-Atherton senior Sara Osterberg, the runner-up with a PR of her own in 5:06.74.
Taylor Nguyen and Taylor Andolsek, Alameda softball: The two Taylors in Alameda’s lineup each had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the Hornets to a 13-7 victory over crosstown rival Encinal.
Jocelyn Pino and Alyssa Hoeke, Cupertino softball: Pino went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles in an 11-7 victory over Palo Alto. The senior also drew a pair of walks and scored three times as she upped her batting average to .725 in 51 at-bats. Meanwhile, Hoeke went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs against Paly, then 4-for-5 with three RBIs and four runs in a 13-3 rout of Saratoga, collecting her sixth and seventh triples of the season in each game.
Morgan Salmon, Acalanes softball: Had five hits in five at-bats — including three doubles — scored twice and knocked in four runs as Acalanes beat Ygnacio Valley 15-0 and Miramonte 16-1 to improve to 13-2 on the season. Salmon is batting .634.
Andre Volgin and Kevin Kafayi, Menlo School boys tennis: Volgin and Kafayi, along with seniors John Kim and Luca St. Goar, picked up victories in a sweep of Harker to lift the Knights to their 23rd consecutive league championship. Volgin and Kafayi then went 3-0 to win the West Bay Athletic League doubles title.
Aaron Winer, Las Lomas baseball: Went 3 for 7 with three RBIs and scored two runs as Las Lomas swept two games against Berean Chistian to run its record to 19-1.
Carson Yates, Leland baseball: The 6-foot-3 junior went 2-for-3 with an RBI in a 4-2 victory against Los Altos, which suffered its second loss of the season after Yates took the mound in relief and tossed three nearly-flawless innings in which he allowed one hit, one run and struck out one for the save.
