Breaking: Adeleke is one of us and wrote the WASCE - Classmates visit Osun PDP governorship candidate

The controversies surrounding the certificate of Senator Ademola Adeleke, governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), may have just ended with the visit of his classmates.

The classmates of Adeleke visited him on Wednesday, May 1, and confirmed that he was part of them between 1976 and 1981at the Muslim Grammar School, Ede in Osun state.

The classmates who held a press conference after the solidarity visit, said they would continue to associate with Adeleke who they described as one of them.

Mukaila Olopade, a former sports prefect in the school, told journalists that Adele is a good jolly fellow.

He said that Adeleke was the president of the ‘Old Students Association’ of the school for four years.

“This could not have been possible if he did not finish in the school and wrote the WASCE,” he said.

The Nation reports that Olopade was accompanied by others including Mukaila Ayoola, Ajibola Nureni, Ademola Oyelakin and Dauda Okanlawon.

“Those of us, who attended Muslim Grammar School, Ede between 1976 and 1981, would readily attest to the good companionship and brotherly fraternity that we shared with the amiable Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, who from childhood has shown leadership traits.

“Ademola’s time at the Muslim Grammar School, Ede, together with us was years we shall proudly refer to as well spent in our formative years. We of the 1976/1981 set of which Ademola Adeleke was a part, could with all sense of responsibility and patriotic zeal affirmed that the distinguished senator gave a good account of himself as our classmate,” he said.

Olopade added that the 1976/1981 set of the school sat for the final West Africa School Certificate Examination and had their names, including that of Senator Ademola Adeleke’s recorded in its ledger as presented by an assistant registrar of the body (WAEC) when he was called upon by a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja.

“What further proof is Senator Ademola Adeleke’s antagonists looking for to confirm his attendance and participation in the 1981 WASCE with the rest of us?” He asked adding that all attempts by some people trying to run down the governorship candidate would fail.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal recently heard the appeal filed by Gboyega Oyetola, the Osun state governor, and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Daily Independent reports.
