An evening attack on Gobirawa and Sabawa villages in the Safana local government area of Katsina state on Tuesday, April 30, has left at least 10 people dead and others in tears, the police has confirmed.
The police in Katsina state said the bandits invaded the two villages with 150 motorcycles.
A statement issued by the command’s public relations rfficer, SP Gambo Isah, on Wednesday, May 1, said that the bandits attacked the two villages at about 6.10 pm.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports Isah as saying that the bandits rustled a number of animals and took away other valuables after killing the innocent persons.
The police spokesperson revealed that the command immediately dispatched police patrol teams to the affected communities, engaged the hoodlums in gun duel and chased them away.
He said the police are making efforts to arrest the hoodlums.
“We will do everything possible to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice and bringing to an end the activities of these rascals," he said.
Legit.ng reports that the latest attack is coming barely 48 hours after kidnappers blocked the Kaduna - Abuja expressway forcing several motorists to abandon their vehicles and head for nearby bushes to avoid being abducted.

The development has left many motorists and passengers unaccounted for just as their belongings were carted away by the kidnappers.
