Why did Ruby Allen slap Sean Slater in EastEnders and what’s their history?

SEAN Slater was left stunned in EastEnders when Ruby Allen slapped him – hard – around the face the moment she saw him.

But with no explanation for her actions we thought we’d take the chance to revisit their history.

Why did Ruby Allen slap Sean in EastEnders?

When Ruby Allen caught sight of recent returnee Sean Slater – Rob Kazinsky – in the Queen Vic, she marched right up to him a slapped him around his face.

Sean responded by saying: ‘Nice seeing you Ruby. I’d love to stay and catch up but I’ve got to take my mum to chemo.’

If you weren’t a regular viewers of ‘Enders back in 2006, you might not know that Sean and Ruby dated. In fact they were actually engaged back in the day, but things didn’t end well between them and Ruby left Walford.

 Ruby – Louisa Lytton – was completely in love with Sean and thought he felt the same, not realising he was actually a serial cheat who was only was only with her because she’d inherited a lot of money when her dad, Johnny Allen, died.

Sean cheated on Ruby throughout their relationship, notably with salon worker Preeti Choraria. Sean’s sister Stacey – who was Ruby’s best friend – told her what her brother had been up to, leaving Ruby devastated.

But Ruby decided she was so in love with bad boy Sean that she didn’t mind him sleeping around. To Stacey’s horror Ruby said she was willing to work through the ‘blip’.

In a heart to heart with Stacey she revealed that she loved him and wanted him back.

She then fell asleep on the sofa waiting for Sean to come home. When he did she told him she forgave him for cheating.

Sean couldn’t believe it. He told her that he would carry on cheating and Ruby pretty much said that was fine by her as long as they were together.

She also promised they could live together in her dad’s huge house in Essex, complete with pool and he’d never have to want for anything.

Sean literally couldn’t believe his luck and they planned to leave together. Well, so Ruby thought.

When it came to the day they were due to depart, instead of getting in the taxi with Ruby, Sean through the urn containing her dad’s ashes at her.

A furious and humiliated Ruby yelled at Sean that he would lose everything and she wouldn’t be returning to Walford.

Sean it back telling her the only thing he’d be losing would be the sound of her whining voice which had been doing his head in for months. Ouch.

No wonder she slapped him tonight.
