ARSENAL could be humiliated if they qualify for the Champions League next season, according to Ian Wright.
The Gunners are still in with a chance of booking their spot in the competition despite losing three league games on the bounce.
Arsenal are fifth in the Premier League standings with just Brighton and Burnley left to face.
Unai Emery’s men can still statistically catch Chelsea after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United kept them within reach.
But Wright is concerned that his former club would struggle in the competition following their shocking spell of form.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: “I want to sure that this manager is given time to make that team right.
“In the summer he’ll need to make some serious additions.
“But right now, mainly through the fault of other teams, we’re unexpectedly in a position where we could qualify for the Champions League.
“But then I start to think to think to myself ‘how much do I really even want us to be in it?’
“With the way the team’s playing at the moment and the lack of money he’s going to have to spend, it’s worrying how embarrassing it could become if we get there and keep playing the way we are.”
Emery needs to splash the cash this summer, but he will have just £40m to spend if they don’t reach the Champions League.
The Spaniard needs a midfielder to replace Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey and reportedly wants a winger, left-back and goalkeeper.
