Real Madrid ace Odegaard set for two-year Ajax loan with young midfielder ‘still not in Zidane’s plans’
REAL MADRID ace Martin Odegaard is being lined-up for a two-year loan at Ajax – with the young midfielder “still not in Zidane’s plans”.
De Telegraaf in Holland claims the Norway international, 20, won’t be considered for selection at Los Blancos next term.
Now, the Dutch giants are eyeing up the £80,000-a-week star to help fill the void soon to be left by Barcelona-bound Frenkie De Jong.
The Norwegian star, once tipped for the very top, has already been shipped off on loan to Heerenveen and Vitesse in the past two seasons.
Odegaard was brought to the Bernabeu in 2015 from Stromsgodset – having made his Norwegian top-flight debut aged just 15.
However, his fledgling career has stalled since heading to the Spanish giants.

In fact, Odegaard has featured in just ONE La Liga match during his four years at the club.
The 20-year-old playmaker’s contract in Madrid runs out in the summer of 2021, meaning it will expire at the end of his loan deal at Ajax.
However, in the meantime, the report claims Real will look to extend Odegaard’s contract at the club – clearly considering him as a prospect for the future.
Ajax were sceptical at taking on the big-earning youngster after his inability to break into the first-team in Spain.

However, a fine run of form in recent weeks at Vitesse has seen the Amsterdam giants change their tune.
And while Zidane may not see Odegaard as part of his plans, the Norwegian is thrilled to have his old boss back in charge of his parent club.
Odegaard recently claimed: “I think that it is very positive. He had some successful seasons and he knows the club and the players well.
“For me, it’s also a positive as I know him well and we have a good relationship with each other.”
