CORONATION Street has confirmed Adam Barlow’s return as Sam Robertson was pictured filming on set.
The character left the cobbles back in February to go travelling after being accused of sleeping with Sarah Platt behind Gary Windass’ back.
But the ITV soap posted a snap of actor Sam Robertson – who plays Adam – back on set as part of its weekly Saturday Sneak Peeks on social media.
In the shot, Sam is seen all suited and booted as Adam while playing table football with Ali Neeson, played by co-star James Burrows.
Fans were delighted to see the hunk back in Weatherfield after more than two months away from their screens.
One wrote: “Adams back… Finally” alongside a number of happy emojis, while another added: “Woo hoo Adam is back.”
A third posted: “Woo hoo Adam is back.”
Their happiness isn’t too much of a surprise considering how devastated they were when Adam left Coronation Street back in February.
Adam made the decision to quit the cobbles for Italy after Gary accused him of sleeping with his girlfriend Sarah.
Taking to Twitter to comment on it, one person wrote: “Adam, don’t go, fs! There’s the eye candy gone! #Corrie.”

While someone else wrote: “Please don’t leave Adam #corrie @itvcorrie @Rob_Mallard.”
And a further person remarked: “So Adam is leaving #Corrie for a while. All of a sudden the soap is rather less watchable…”
But Adam gave viewers hope he wouldn’t be gone for long at the time, telling his relative Daniel@ “I hate goodbyes… it’s just for a couple of months.”
Daniel quizzed him about if he had slept with Sarah, but he denied it, telling him: “No I didn’t. I’m sick of people thinking that’s who I am.”
He revealed he was headed to Italy and added: “Maybe I will find myself.”
Daniel jokingly replied: “Or you will end up having sex with loads of Italian women!”
