Santa Teresa extends winning streak to 10 games, moves into Top 5; No. 1 Foothill, No. 2 Heritage dominate competition.
Heritage made the giant leap last week. Santa Teresa has done so this week.
The San Jose school has won 10 games in a row, including victories this past week over Archbishop Mitty, Carlmont and Presentation.
Santa Teresa jumped 10 spots in the latest Bay Area News Group Top 15, up to No. 5.
No. 1 Foothill and No. 2 Heritage held steady atop the rankings. Foothill ran its record to 17-0, beating Dougherty Valley 19-0 and San Ramon Valley 10-1. Heritage is 15-2 after rolling past Liberty 16-1 and Antioch 11-3.
St. Francis has gotten back on track after a couple of losses a few weeks ago. The fourth-ranked team’s week included a 3-1 win over Archbishop Mitty, which beat St. Francis 11-0 in late March.
Newcomers this week are Castro Valley, Silver Creek and Newark Memorial.
