Police are thanking a Good Samaritan for calling in “dangerous” driving on the Queensway after laying charges against a motorist alleged to have blown almost three times the legal limit when pulled over Tuesday afternoon.
Ottawa OPP officers responded to a witness’s report that a vehicle was travelling erratically on the westbound highway just after 1 p.m.
Officers “safely intercepted” the vehicle on March Road.
Elena Melekhovets, 51, is charged with dangerous driving, operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood and impaired driving.
She was released on a promise to appear in court May 1.
