The Bernie Effect: Klobuchar Set For Town Hall With Fox News In May
After Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) town hall on Fox News brought in nearly 2.6 million viewers — the most of any town hall so far this election cycle — other Democrats may follow suit.
Like Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), who just tossed her hat in the ring.
On May 8, Fox News will host Klobuchar for a town hall discussion from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. EST in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Fox News said in a statement Wednesday.
“Fox News Channel continues to produce highly informative and respectful town hall events, delivering record viewership and providing a platform to all candidates,” Executive Editor of Fox News Jay Wallace said in the statement. “We are incredibly proud of the entire team and look forward to hosting Senator Klobuchar for our next town hall.”
The DNC announced earlier this year that it wouldn’t partner with Fox News to host primary debates for Democratic candidates this year following a report in the New Yorker that revealed the network spiked a story about President Trump’s hush payments to a porn star during the 2016 election because Rupert Murdoch wanted Trump to win the election.
But town halls appear to be on the table for some 2020 Democrats.
