Underground staff to be balloted in jobs dispute
The RMT has announced a ballot for industrial action by London Underground staff in protest at changes which the union claims amount to âattacks on jobs, staffing levels, pay and working conditions as part of a concerted assault on the workforceâ. A London Underground process aimed at reducing costs, known as âTransformation', is the cause of the underlying dispute. TfL said safety would not be compromised, and that it remained available for talks.
