Get a first look at the dinosaurs in the all-new Jurassic World—The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood
In anticipation of the official opening of the all-new Jurassic World—The Ride this summer, Universal Studios Hollywood unleashed a clever ad campaign that has a tyrannosaurus rex and a mosasaurus terrifying guests and employees within the theme park.
The spot opens with a crew hard at work on the Universal Back lot, shooting on the Western set when the ground begins to shake and suddenly the T-Rex appears and everyone scrambles. As the monster with short arms, but mighty big teeth races through the park, eventually smashing through the iconic front gates, the ad shows a quick glimpse of the Mosasaurus within its three million gallon glass aquarium observatory tank inside the Jurassic World —The Ride, as well as park guests in one of the newly designed rafts.
Jurassic World — The Ride will feature an original story line that takes place within the park from the “Jurassic World” film and it all begins the day the indominus rex escapes. It will feature new animatronic dinosaurs from the movie, lush vegetation, memorable scenery from the franchise and it all ends with that 84-foot waterfall drop.
Last May, Universal Studios announced that Jurassic Park – The Ride would officially go extinct over Labor Day Weekend in 2018 so it could be transformed to showcase the latest films in the billion dollar Jurassic Park franchise. The original attraction opened in 1996 and was inspired by Steven Spielberg’s 1993 summer blockbuster, “Jurassic Park.” It was state-of-the-art at the time as Universal Creative worked closely with scientists, paleontologists and aerospace engineers to make life-sized and lifelike dinosaurs once again roam the Earth.
The entire attraction will undergo an evolution as there will be a new entry design, engaging and interactive queue line videos that feature facts and other information about dinosaurs within the ride including the stegosaurus, parasaurolophus, velociraptors, dilophosaurus and more. The park has also beefed up its Dino Play kids area to include an excavation activity for dinosaur fossils and the Raptor Encounter will now include beloved velociraptor Blue who will come face-to-face with guests.
