Easter celebration: Edo pays workers April salary ahead
- Edo state government has paid April Salary for its workers ahead of the Easter celebration
- The government said it wants to make funds available for workers to celebrate the Easter festivities with their family and friends
- Going further, the state government said it will not relent in implementing worker-friendly reforms to reinvigorate the state civil service
Ahead of the Esater celebration, the Edo state government has on Tuesday, April 16, paid workers salary for the month of April.
This was disclosed in a statement by Crusoe Osagie, special adviser to the governor on media and communication strategy.
According to him, the state government’s decision to pay workers was to allow them have funds to celebrate the Easter festivities with their family and friends.

“Edo state government wants workers to have money at their disposal for the celebration. This buttresses the government’s commitment to the welfare of workers in the state through timely payment of salary and other entitlements.”
“Workers with the Edo state government can begin their shopping for Easter well ahead of time. The Easter celebration commences on Good Friday till Easter Monday,” he added.
He also added that the government will continue to implement worker-friendly reforms to make the state civil service better.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Edo state government said it has established a new lassa fever treatment centre in Benin City, the state capital, to make treatment of the disease more accessible to the people.
The state commissioner for health, David Osifo, disclosed this in Benin on Wednesday, March 20.
