Let’s Try it by Bike! Surviving this summer’s Blue and Yellow Line Shutdown
The summer 2019 Yellow and Blue Line shutdown is coming and roads in northern Virginia are going to be packed! Bypass the car traffic by riding your bike to work. Or go multimodal and bike to the National Airport Metro and take your bike to work on metro.
Whether you have always wanted to commute by bike or you are just exploring the idea now, our community education ride series is an inclusive space for riders. You will always have a great time on our rides, but they’re also a safe space to ask questions and practice to make this summer’s commute a breeze.
We will showcase the roads and trails in Alexandria that will get you to National Airport for your metro ride and, as you build momentum, all the way into Washington, DC.

- End time – 12:30 PM
- Distance – About 10 miles

Please bring your own bike and helmet. Helmets are a requirement on all WABA rides. If you have questions, please read our ride policies here. Everyone ages 14 and up is welcome. All riders must sign a waiver. Riders under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
What does it cost?
Ten bucks! This ride is offered thanks to the generous support of the City of Alexandria
