Sadio Mane, still an indestructible warrior, had put Liverpool ahead with an unstoppable header from a cross by subn Jordan Henderson.
Wijnaldum came on for Keita to stabilise the game in 66.
Salah’s anticipation is almost as uncanny as his skill. He sees so much so early and makes decisions sooner than anybody on the pitch.
Most of the second half was furious 120 mph football.
After Higuain came on for Hudson-Odoi, Eden Hazard switched to wide left and had a chance in 59 when an Emerson’s lofted pass found left him one-on-one with keeper Allison.
Hazard’s touch was perfect and his shot rolled under the keeper’s big right leg but came back off the post.
The second half was very high-tempo and when Willian crossed nicely, Hazard’s next shot hit the keeper.
It must be a very long time since the Chelsea players ran so far so fast and didn’t score.
