A much-changed Tottenham side thrashed Huddersfield Town 4-0 at the new stadium yesterday afternoon .
While some of the changes were forced on Mauricio Pochettino due to injuries to the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, the Argentine also decided to give starts to the likes of Victor Wanyama, Kyle Walker-Peters, and Juan Foyth, while Lucas Moura partnered Fernando Llorente up front.
Moura grabbed the headlines with a brilliant hat-trick but his strike partner also put in an accomplished performance.
Llorente’s physical presence up front made it hard for the Huddersfield defence, and enabled the likes of Eriksen and Moura to play off him.
The Spaniard held up the ball well, displayed some great touches and was unlucky not to find the back of the net.
Despite not scoring, the 33-year-old proved once again that he can deputise for Harry Kane and provide something different.
While opportunities for Llorente have been few and far between this season, he has shown whenever he has played that he can both score and set up goals.
In fact, the former World Cup winner has the best goal involvement ratio in the whole Tottenham squad, averaging a goal or assist ever 67.5 minutes in all competitions.

This stat perhaps proves that the former Juventus man still doesn’t quite get the respect he deserves.
